The First Kosher Food Bank in GTA
Mada Montreal is a notable and successful organization devoted to alleviating poverty within the Jewish Community in Montreal.
What does Mada Montreal do?
Mada operates:
-
A food bank that distributes food in the value of $40 million per year.
-
A kitchen that serves, twice daily, a hot meal to anyone who walks in and delivers meals to those unable to come to its kitchen.
-
“Shabbos to Share.” Ready made meals, sufficient for the entire Shabbos, delivered to people's homes (we have one in Toronto).
-
A clothing store (we have one in Toronto).
-
A furniture store (we have one in Toronto).
-
A professional curriculum whose subject is kindness and charity developed for corporations, schools and universities; its objective is to train future generations in the importance of charitable giving.
-
A hot, fresh Shabbos meal is served every Friday night and every Shabbos afternoon (including all Yomim Tovim and Pesach) for those in need and wish to enjoy the beautiful environment offered by Mada.
All free of charge!

Mada Montreal is a model for every Jewish Community, worldwide. It is helping to build a loving and warm community, financially stable, for the betterment of us all. Every Jewish family deserves the best and every Jewish child should receive his or her needs with dignity!
Rabbi Mottel Wechter and his wife visited Montreal for several days including a Shabbos weekend. They learned, with the intention to replicate this wonderful program in Toronto, how this beautiful empire operates.
At a Zoom meeting, Rabbi Wechter shared his experience at Mada Center in Montreal. “Mada is not merely a food bank or a collection of various projects. Mada is a Empire of Love and Kindness”!

It's no secret that, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors, inflation has exploded. The cost for the very basics of life has gone up, dramatically, in the past year.
A clear decision, reached after many discussions, Zoom meetings and brain storming, is that it’s now time that we, the GTA frum community, replicate Mada Montreal in Toronto!
The frum community in GTA needs a HEIMISHE FOOD BANK! ויפה שעה אחת קודם
A committee, that we intend to expand, has been established. Many good people in our community have volunteered their time and knowledge to help establish this beautiful institution in the GTA.
Each member of the committee will have a signature on the account and we will be accountable to the public for every dollar!
For more Information, please visit our website: www.thefamilymarket.org (the website will be available after March 15th. 2024).
We have the מסירת נפש to move forward. but we can only do so with your warm Jewish financial support.
Please be a full partner in this amazing charitable foundation!
